There Be Dragons Here...((Literate))

((This is a dragon role-play. There is no form, but I would like a link to a picture. My dragon character is female, would like someone to join with a male;) )) Kaltraza The sounds of feet crunched on the barren mountains. A group of heavily armed humans stumbled and tripped their way up the mountain slope, but the going was tough. The wind blasted cold icy snow into their faces and their clothes were partly frozen. But all had only one thought in mind, slay the dragon. They were well prepared for it, carrying guns and cross-bows. One even had a grenade, but his fellows told him only to use it if nothing else was possible. They were hunting for the black she-dragon known as Kaltraza, she lived up somewhere in the cold reaches of the mountains, hiding away in her lair. They accused her of slaying their fellow people and raiding their citys. But Kaltraza had gone no where near their cities, the bright lights and tall sky-scrapers scared her away, as did the giant metal flying beasts the humans rode in. She knew that the only reason the humans were not riding in one of those beasts was because the wind was to strong. Kaltraza was perched on top of the mountain, her sleek black body covered in scales that flashed whenever she moved. Her large wings were folded over her back as she watched the humans make slow progress towards her hidden cave. Her kind were already few in number, should they get to close she would descend from the clouds and watch them burn...

Kaltraza wanted to kill the remaining humans, but they were already out of sight. And it would be a waste of energy to fly after them in this storm. She stepped away from the downed male, turning her black gaze onto him, he was staring at her like a idiot.

But then it was understandable. She was shocked herself to even see another dragon, much less a male in her territory. She wondered if he was a wanderer, or here for something else. The 'something else' was what made her wary of him. He was a different dragon from her own dark scaled kind. The males tended to force themselves upon you, to the point where it got annoying. But she had not seen tooth nor claw of any others.

She sat down, her long tail swishing across the rocks, causing them to slide and bounce down the slope. "Greetings."

She wondered what to do now, her only porpose was to destroy those humans, and now they were gone. Instead she was stuck with this intereating problem. The cold wings buffted her, but her hard hide was used to the cold and replled it easily. Rain had begun to splatter down, freezing into snow.

The roar of fire and the feeling of some warmth in close vincinity woke Jesched up again. For a moment, he was not sure where he was. Then it slowly came back to him. The long journey, the mission, getting lost....

Shaking the remaining snow from his head, he noticed the molten snow in the area where the flames had hit; it was already freezing again. There was no sign of any remaining humans. But there was a new presence close by, and Jesched did not have to think about what it was.

Turning around and trying to bring himself into a more dignified position, he tried to think of some elaborate words of thanks for the unknown dragon, but the words got stuck in his brain before they had a chanced to reach his maw.

A female! He had made a fool of himself in front of a female. As his study mate would have said, that was 'definitely unwise."

For someone unfamiliar with dragons, they would not have noted the difference. Among some human populations there were rumors that dragons had no sexes, that they would simply lay eggs on their own. A ridiculus idea.

Jesched noticed his mind was drifting off to facts and anecdotes, something he tended to do when he was unsure of himself. Again, he tried to think up clever words to thank her and lessen his misfortune, but as it is with males of all species, his mind could come up with only simple words.

"Errr... Hi!"

((No problem))

Kaltraza heard the echo of wings through the mountains. Another dragon? The humans seemed to have notice to, since they were looking up. But it seemed they had not been prepared for this dragon, they had been expecting a black one. Flashes of blue and gold told her the other dragon seemed to be having a difficult time in flying in the storm.

It soon crashed against the mountains, near the humans. The humans didn't care that this was not the dragon they were after, just as long as they got to kill one.

Kaltraza spread her wings, blackening out the sky as she let loose a roar. The humans looked up, realizing their mistake in frogetting about her. She leapt off the peak, gliding down towards them. The humans tried to scatter, but they only sliped and made their plight worse then it had been. Fire rained down from above as Kaltraza let loose her flames. She was careful to not hit the male dragon, though she was still surprised to see him. His colors were odd, most of the dragons around here had been dark colors.

He must have been from somewhere else.

Kaltraza landed with a thud next to the dragon, spreading out her wings and roaring at the remaining humans as they fled down the mountain.

(No picture online right now, I'll try to find one. Jesched is a young, gold-blue dragon)

Wind and snow was no weather for a scholar, especially not when used to a warmer climate. The simple fact that the gold-blue dragon hardly visible in the storm had little knowledge of the regional geography did not help. For the last few hours, he had been trying to find the landmark river he knew he had to cross to get to his destination. But by now, he had to admit that he was utterly lost. The only landmark he had found was a human city, and he knew better than getting close to any humans in this area.

The dragon was tired and cold, and he would need to find shelter and rest pretty soon. At the moment, he was still making himself believe that it would be no problem, that there would be caves around here somewhere not occupied by bears and other critters. His last resting place had proven to be a nuisance with plenty of vole rats and other annoyances.

Shapes recognizable in the storm made him notice he had come too low. It was, of course, easier flying low between hills and mountains as the storm was less forceful here. But if a particularly strong wind would catch him, he might be thrown against a mountainside, or worse.

Movement above him caught his attention. He could barely make out the human shapes foolishly climbing up above the tree line. Maybe they needed help? In the south, Jesched would not have hesitated to make contact. His species was considered holy there. But here...

Having paid too much attention to the groupm of climbers, Jesched was caught off guard by a strong gust and hurled right towards where the humans were. The last thing he noticed before his head hit a rock was their weapons, and he had a very bad feeling about this.
